Mrs. Modest Kouwenberg

February 8, 1878 – May 25, 1950

Mrs. Modest Kouwenberg, aged 72, of 1405 Western Avenue, died at 3:20 Thursday in her residence after an illness of nine months.

She was born in Westdorpe, The Netherlands, February 8, 1878, and came here 33 years ago from Patterson NJ.  In 1914 in Belgium, she was married to Modest Kouwenberg, who survives.  Other survivors are two sons, August and Maurice DeMeulenaere, both of South Bend; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and three half brothers in The Netherlands.

Friends may call in the DeVos Chapel, Mishawaka, until services there at 3pm Saturday.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
