Joseph Kotal

Joseph Kotal, aged 55, of rural route No. 1, Box 230, North Liberty, this county, died at 6 p.m. Sunday in his residence after a year’s illness.

He was born in Austria, Aug. 5, 1894 and came here 50 years ago.

He was married here in 1931 to Frances Gruber, who survives.

He was a farmer

He leaves also his father, Frank Kotal, of South Bend; three sons, Henry, Joseph and Frank, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Charles Vanderker of Mishawaka, Mrs. Albert Zemack of South Bend, Mrs. Robert Firestone of North Liberty, and Helen and Mary, at home; three grandchildren; a brother John Kotal, of South Bend, and two sisters. Mrs. Elmer Martin of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs John Dumas, of Denver, Colo.

Friends may call in the Nemeth Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today and until the funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Frank Brown, CSC, pastor, will sing the mass.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
