Harriet V. Kosinski, 101, of the
Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend, Ind., passed
away on Thursday, April 19, in the care facility. Mrs. Kosinski
was born in Morris Run, Pa., on June 26, 1899, to the late Jacob
and Josephine (Polcyn) Pawlak. She moved to the
South Bend area as a child, and had been a resident ever since.
On May 28, 1928, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, South Bend, as
Harriet V. Pawlak, she married Stanley Kosinski, who preceded her
in death on Dec. 27, 1983. She was also preceded in death by six
sisters and one brother. Mrs. Kosinski is survived by a daughter,
Dolores (Eugene) Kowalik of South Bend; four
grandchildren, James (Susanna) Kowalik of Mishawaka, Ind., Ann
Marie (Robert) Weller of Mishawaka, Cynthia (Joel) DeBruyne
of South Bend and Michelle (David) Wasoski of South Bend;
13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and
by a sister, Lillian Makowski of Parker, Colo. Mrs. Kosinski was
a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of South Bend,
and was a member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary at the
church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today,
April 22, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive,
South Bend, where a 4 p.m. parish Rosary will be recited. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23,
in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery.
