Meyer Kornfeld, 83, of Teri Street, South Bend, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in Memorial Hospital. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on July 16, 1917, to Ben and Anna (Hoffman) Kornfeld.
On Oct. 19, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, he married the former Charlotte Hare, who died Feb. 17, 2000. Surviving is his son, George Howard (Carol Ann) Kornfeld of Jones, Mich.; one granddaughter, Judy Kornfeld Love; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Hannah Love; two step-grandchildren, Eric and Chad Boembeke; two sisters, Gertrude Zavatsky of Elkhart, Ind.; and Mitzie Monovitz of Freemont, Neb.; and a brother, Edward Kornfeld of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Kornfeld worked for Yeager Motors for 22 years, then worked for Avaniti Motors, and retired from Rosenstein & Company as a salesman. He was a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Sinai Synagogue.
Funeral services for Mr. Kornfeld will be on Monday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to Sinai Synagogue or to the donor's choice.
