Charlotte Kornfeld, 87, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Kornfeld was born on Dec. 18, 1912, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Abe and Carrie (Labowitz) Hare.

As the former Charlotte Hare she married Meyer Kornfeld in 1940. Together they lived most of their lives in the South Bend area. Mrs. Kornfeld was a member of Sinai Synagogue. She is survived by her husband, Meyer; a son, George Howard (Carol Ann) Kornfeld of Jones, Mich.; a granddaughter, Judy Kornfeld Love; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Hannah Love; two step-grandchildren, Eric and Chad Boembeke; and by a brother, David Hare of New York.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, in the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka, Ind. Rabbi Michael Friedland will officiate. There will be no visitation. The Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Charlotte Kornfeld to Sinai Synagogue.
