Helen M. Kopcsa

Helen M. Kopcsa, 94, of Alpine Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, in her residence.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1906, in Detroit, Mich., to Joseph and Velma Torok, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rev. Andrew J. Kopcsa III. On Feb. 18, 1920, in South Bend, as Helen Torok, she married Andrew P. Kopcsa, who died in April 1984.

Mrs. Kopcsa retired in 1971 from Indiana Bell where she had been employed for 20 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Joanne Bauer of Granger, Ind., Beverly Morris of South Bend, Margaret Gotstein of St. Joseph, Mich., and Susan Reed of South Bend; a son, Frank Kopcsa of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and by 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, in St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 13, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
