SOUTH BEND - Antionette Kopacz, 95, passed away on Saturday,
November 28, 2009, at 9:15 a.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center. Antionette was born in Poland on March 7, 1914,
to the late Josef and Antonia Iwan. On January 30, 1939, in
Poland, she married Anthony Kopacz, who passed away on September
29, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and
several sisters. She is survived by her children, Veronica
(Charles) Rogers of Niles, MI, Jane (James) McCartney of Conifer,
CO, Mitchell (Marsha) Kopacz of South Bend and John (Linda)
Kopacz of North Liberty; six grandchildren, Ronne, Michaelene,
Krystal, Christopher, Jennifer and Sarina; and nine
great-grandchildren. Antionette was a parishioner of St. Hedwig
Catholic Church. She was a member of the Grandmothers Club, Holy
Rosary Society, Golden Cluster and Harvest House. She enjoyed
knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was very proud of her
roses. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, December 1,
2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a
Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. in St.
Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig
Catholic Church, 331 S. Scott St., South Bend, IN 46601. For
those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences
for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
