Donnabelle Mae Konzen, 78, formerly of West Ireland Road, South Bend, Ind., died after an extended illness at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 25, in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Mrs. Konzen was born on Sept. 19, 1920, in Mishawaka, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.

On Feb. 23, 1946, as Donnabelle Mae Detwiler, she married Dale F. Konzen, who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1968. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy A. Konzen on August 18, 1998. Mrs. Konzen is survived by a son, Thomas L. Konzen, Sr. of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Michelle L. Sran of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Thomas L. Konzen, Jr. of Mishawaka; and by a greatgrandchild, Halie Paige Ward of Mishawaka. Mrs. Konzen retired from Sears Roebuck & Company in 1986 after 17 years of service.

Visitation hours for Mrs. Konzen will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today in the Hanley & Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home located at W. Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the Alzeimers Association or to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society. The Hanley & Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home handled services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Konzen family.
