Frank J. Konopinski, 71, of 51719 Mayflower Road, died at 10:30pm Monday in Memorial Hospital.  Arrangements are incomplete at the Welsheimer Funeral Home.

Services for Frank Konopinski, 71, of 51719 Mayflower Road, who died Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of five weeks, were held at 10am today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.  Rev. Herbert Wingard, pastor of Portage Chapel United Methodist Church, officiated. Cremation followed.

Mr. Konopinski had been an employee of the Studebaker Corp., retiring in 1964 after 46 years.  Born March 23, 1899, in Lansing MI, he resided in this area most of his life.  On October 15, 1949, in South Bend, he married Violet Bailey Parik, who survives.  Also surviving are a stepson, Francis Parik of Sunnyvale CA; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Vargo of Mishawaka; a step daughter, Mrs. Anna Schroeder of Berrien Springs MI; six grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters.  He was a member of Local 5, UAW.
