MISHAWAKA - Gene Kollar, 79, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, in his residence. He was born on March 5, 1929, in South Bend, IN, to George Dale and Viola Leone (Brewer) Kollar. Mr. Kollar retired from Bendix in 1990 after 38 years of service and had served in the U.S. Air Force.

On April 29, 1950, in Mishawaka, he married Rose Marie Woods. After 49 years of marriage, Rose preceded him in death on January 8, 2000. Mr. Kollar is survived by his children, Geno Kollar of Charleston, SC, Nick (Janet) Kollar of Sierra Vista, AZ, Gail (Fred) Galloway of Mishawaka, Kim (Dennis Michael) Orosz of South Bend, Woody (Loretta) Kollar of South Bend and Jacqueline (Mark) Hensley of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren, Nick Kollar, Erick Galloway, A. Gene K. Freeman I, Jake Kollar, Bevin Orosz, Jarrod Galloway, Sarah Orosz, Clarissa Orosz, Alaina (James) O'Carra and Tegan Orosz; four step-grandchildren, Joanna Hardesty, Angela Pedraza, Lataya Meyers and Reannin Soule; six great-grandsons, Max Morse, Ian Kowalski, Layne Galloway, Marius O'Carra, A. Gene K. Freeman II and Ethan Kollar; numerous step-great-grandchildren; and his brother, John Relicke Jr. of Osceola, IN. Mr. Kollar was also preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters, Maryjane Doolen and Carol Lymangrover.

Memorial services will take place on Wednesday, April 23, at noon in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until services. Steve Nanni will officiate the memorial services.
