Lawrence Kolczynski: (South Bend Tribune 4/1/1978)
The body of Lawrence Kolczynski, 50, of 312 E. 11th in Mishawaka,
was found in his home at 1 p.m. Friday, after a neighbor called
police. The St. Joseph County Coroner, Dr. James McMeel, ruled
the death a suicide by hanging. The time of death was set at noon
Friday. Kolczynski was born on Sept. 7, 1927, in South Bend. He
lived most of his life in the South Bend-Mishawaka area.
Surviving are two brothers, Casimer of Hamilton, Ind., and Daniel
of South Bend. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St.
Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower, where friends may call
from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Charles
A. Reed, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Kolczynski was a member of
the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 19 of Elkhart. He was a
Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
