Gladys L. Kolat (Nov. 5, 1912 - Oct. 25, 1998).

Gladys L. Kolat, 85, formerly of Mayfair Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Mrs. Kolat was born on Nov. 5, 1912 in Dyersburg, Tenn.

On Aug. 18, 1928, in Crown Point, Ind., as Gladys L. Woolverton, she married John Kolat, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1982.

Gladys is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Songer of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by a son Al Kolat of South Bend; and by three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kolat was a member of the Twin City Baptist Church in Mishawaka, and cherished her membership and work for the church.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road and Indiana 23, South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the church, with viewing one hour prior to services.  Rev. Jerry Bell of the Twin City Baptist Church will be officiating, and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the Twin City Baptist Church, 420 E. Jefferson, Mishawaka, IN 46546.

The Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral home handled services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Kolat family.
