OSCEOLA - Otho A. Kobold, 75, of 10673 Fairview Ave., died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday in the home of his daughter on Tower Road, Elkhart, of natural causes. Mr. Kobold was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Woodland and was a lifelong area resident.
On Sept. 9, 1949, in Woodland, he married Betty R. Johnson. She died Feb. 19, 1993. He is survived by four daughters, Paula Duncan of Middlebury, Linda Qualls of Elkhart, Shirley Sobecki of Mishawaka and Patricia Bishop of South Bend; a son, Otho D. of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchidren; two sisters, Fern L. Kobold Boone of South Bend and Mary E. Kobold of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Elmer H. of South Bend, Lewis P. of Mishawaka, Carl E. of Syracuse and Devon D. of Elkhart. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Mishawaka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
