Brother Urban Knownapple CSC

Brother Urban CSC, who was born Albert T. Knowmapple, 63, died in the community infirmary at the University of Notre Dame, at the University of Notre Dame, Sunday after several weeks illness. He was born in Spring Mountain, Ohio Oct. 31, 1886 and was professed as a brother of Holy Cross in August 1916. He worked on the St. Joseph Farm in Granger, and for many years was hear heat and power engineer at the University of Portland in Oregon. More recently he was in a similar position at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio.

Funeral rites will take place at 8 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame, with burial in the community cemetery.
