Warren E. Klowetter

March 3, 1915 - July 25, 1998

Warren E. Klowetter, 83, residing on State Road 23, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend.

 

Mr. Klowetter was retired in 1978 as a processing engineer with the Bendix Corporation following 44 years of service.

 

He was born on March 3, 1915, in South Bend, to the late William and Hulda (Tetzlaff) Klowetter, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community. Warren was also preceded in death by a sister, Alma Naragon; three brothers, Theodore, Carl and George Klowetter; a grandson, John Michael Fisher; and by a daughter-in-law, Diane Klowetter.

 

He was a lifelong and active member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ where he served as president of the congregation. He was also a member and past president of the Over 60's Club, and served as chairman of the memorial fund. He was also a member and past president of the Bendix Retiree's and Bendix Management Club, as well as a member of the Toast Master's Club in South Bend.

 

On May 19, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., Warren married Dorothy M. Bartz.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann ''Petie'' and John D. Fisher of Bellevue, Wash.; a son, Robert F. Klowetter of South Bend; a granddaughter and her husband, Sandra Ann and Jeffrey A. Cummins of Bellevue, Wash.; and by a great-grandson, Matthew Fisher, also of Bellevue.

 

Services for Warren Klowetter will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 915 North Ironwood Drive. Rev. James Iliff, pastor, will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

 

Contributions in memory of Mr. Klowetter may be made to the music department of St. Peter's Church.
