Curtis G. Klotz

OSCEOLA - Curtis G. Klotz, 103, of Osceola, passed away at 11:03 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2012) at Healthwin Hospital in South Bend. He was born June 24, 1909 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Charles D. & Inez (Likens) Klotz. On October 26, 1929 in Auburn, Indiana he married Lena M. Williams. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2002 in South Bend. Surviving are 10 children, Betty Zemialkowski of Osceola, Barbara Ann (Bob) Kovach of Mishawaka, Kathleen Harker of Phoenix, AZ, Edgar Klotz of N. Hollywood, CA, Don Klotz of Osceola, Richard Klotz of Cassopolis, MI, Robert (Sherry) Klotz of Edwardsburg, MI, James Klotz of Hazel Park, MI, Jerry Klotz and Michael (Deb) Klotz both of Mishawaka, IN. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Mary Duncan, 1 sister, Alice Vanderleest, 1 brother, Albert Klotz, a son-in-law, Walter Zemialkowski, and 4 daughters-in-law, Barbara, Marcy, Helen and Judy Klotz. Curtis was a member of the American Legion Post #357 in South Bend, a member of the Chippewa Fun Club and was an avid bowler. He was one of eight bowlers inducted into the St. Joe Valley chapter of the United States Bowling Congress in 2009. He was still bowling at age 95. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. Curtis was the owner of Klotz Upholstery in Osceola for 42 years, retiring in 1989. Visitation for Curtis will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the New Life Church in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (Sept. 17, 2012) at the New Life Church, 11593 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN. Pastor Mike Cramer will preside and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, where there will be full military rites rendered. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pet Refuge.
