Hazel Joy Kline

SOUTH BEND - Hazel Joy Kline, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 24, in her home. Hazel was born on March 19, 1924, in South Bend, as the daughter of Frank and Belva Parrish. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ricky Shoemaker; a stepdaughter, Linda Lou Kline Sailor; two sisters, June Gleva and Catherine Pusti; a brother, Ralph Parrish; and a step-grandchild, Adrian Lowell.

 

On May 15, 1967, as Hazel Davis, she married George Kline. Surviving are her husband, George; daughter, MaryMargaret Blair of South Bend; stepdaughters, Marge J. Mikesell of Mishawaka, Suzanne Louise Lofton of Arkansas, Sharon Lee (James) Kuhn of San Francisco, CA, and Karen Lynn (David) Pedzinski of Elkhart; stepsons, Marvin James Kline of Mishawaka and Jack Edward (Veronica) Kline of Hillsville, VA; a grandson, Scott Blair Jr. of South Bend; 15 step-grandchildren, James, Michael, Jeri Lynn, Gina, Tracy, Donald Lee, Mark, Rhonda, Winona, Danny "Kevin", Shane, Rob, David II, Chase and Mariah; 35 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Parrish of Orlando, FL, and Gene Parrish of Winter Park, FL. Hazel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star II in Lakeville and the Cathedral of St. James Episcopal Church in South Bend. She was a member of Teamsters Local 364 Auxiliary and VFW Post 360 Ladies Auxiliary.

 

Family and friends may gather to celebrate Hazel's life on Wednesday, February 27, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, in the funeral home, with The Reverend Susan Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
