James J. Klarke

James J. Klarke, 78, of Carroll Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, in his home. He was born on July 1, 1920, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Joseph and Anna Klarke and lived in the area all of his life. He retired from Allied-Signal in 1982, after 32 years of service as an electrician. On Sept. 21, 1940, in Mishawaka, he married Adeline M. Springman, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Janice Morris of South Bend; two grandchildren, Bryan Corbridge of South Bend and Barbara Hairston of Tempe, Ariz.; and by four great-grandchildren, Nichole Corbridge, Kristin Corbridge, James Hairston and David Hairston. Mr. Klarke was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

 

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the First English Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, of which Mr. Klarke was a charter member. Friends may also call one hour prior to services on Friday in the church. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
