Rev. Joseph Kish CSC

Rev. Joseph Kish CSC for many years a member of the faculty of Notre Dame University, died this morning in St. Joseph Hospital following a long illness. Father Kish was born in Clemency, Luxembourg, March 16, 1965, and has been a local resident since 1882. He made profession in 1887 and was ordained to the priesthoodof the Roman Catholic Church Dec. 19, 1890.

 

He is survived by two brothers in Luxembourg and one cousin of Quincey, Ill.

 

Funeral services will take place Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, with burial in the Community Cemetery.

Funeral rites for Rev. Joseph Kish CSC, chaplain of Dujarie institute at Notre Dame, were conducted in Sacred Heart Church, this morning at 8 o’clock, with Rev. William R. Connor CSC, superior of the community house, officiating at the office of the dead and solemn requiem mass.

 

Rev. Henry Glueckert CSC, assistant master of novices of St. Joseph novitiate, Notre Dame and Rev. Thomas McAvoy CSC, a professor in Holy Cross seminary, Notre Dame, assisted as deacon and sub-deacon, respectively. Rev. Francis Wenninger CSC, dean of the science department at the university delivered the sermon. Internment was made in the Community Cemetery, with priests of Notre Dame acting as pallbearers.
