SOUTH BEND - George E. Kish, 70, of North Brookfield Street, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Kish retired in 1991 from AM General Corp. He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 2, 1956, in South Bend, he married Barbara Holmann. She died in 1972. He is survived by four daughters, Therese Szynski of Mishawaka, and Bernadette Van Goey, Lisa Kish and Colleen Kish, all of South Bend; two sons, Kevin of Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Hawaii, and Timothy of South Bend; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Toth of South Bend and Elizabeth Zier of Sun City, Ariz. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
