Mary Catherine (McCarthy) Kirwin, 77,
of Brookmede Drive, died Sunday morning, Feb. 11, in the Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mary was a chief accountant for
the Dallas-Mavis Forwarding Company, South Bend, Ind., for 25
years. Mary was born on March 25, 1923, in Hartford, Conn., to
Dennis and Mary (Madden) McCarthy, who preceded her in death,
along with her brother, Dennis McCarthy.
On Feb. 19, 1944, in Hartford, Mary married
James M. Kirwin, who survives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10
a.m. on Wednesday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, with the Most
Rev. Daniel R. Jenky, D.D., pastor, officiating. Entombment will
follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m.
today in the HICKEY FUNERAL HOMES, 3516 E. Jefferson, (219)
289-1000, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Mary was a member
of St. Matthew's Cathedral and the Altar-Rosary Society.
