Albert Lewis Kirch, 88, of South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes on Tuesday evening, March 14, in his home. He was born on Nov. 10, 1911, in South Bend, the son of George and Golden Kirch. He retired from the Torrington Company as a machinist after 43 years of service.
On Aug. 1, 1936, in South Bend, he married Gladys Heffner, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Elaine Pedersen, and her husband Paul of South Bend; a son, George Kirch, and his wife Karen of Madison, Wis.; five grandsons, Dr. Eric Pedersen and his wife, Dr. Michelle Pedersen of Mequon, Wis., Robert Pedersen and his wife, Rosa of Battle Creek, Mich., Marc and Mike Pedersen of South Bend, Scott Kirch and his wife, Beth of Milwaukee, Wis.; three great-grandsons, Jakob Pedersen of Mequon, and Tylar and Jeremy Kirch, both of Milwaukee; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. today, March 17, in the Highland Cemetery, South Bend, with Brother Steve Nani, C.S.C., officiating. Friends are calling from 10 to 11 a.m. this morning, March 17, in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46615.
