Elmer L. Kintz, 81, of 51010
Lilac Road, died at 10:20 AM Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center.
He retired in 1970 from Peter Schumacher and Sons Construction
Company, after 30 years' employment. He served as
construction superintendent of the Athletic and Convocation Center
at the University of Notre Dame. He was born on September
2, 1902, in South Bend and lived here all his life. On January
29, 1938, in South Bend, he married Mary Kehoe, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth E. of Baxter, Tennessee, and
John P. of Granger; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Higgins of Peck, Michigan;
two stepsons, James B. Sprague River, Oregon, and Richard of
Peck, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and
a sister, Bernice Norton of South Bend. Services will be at
11 AM Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church and burial will
follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends
May call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday in Hickey Funeral
Home. Mr. Kintz was a member of the church, Carpenters
Loyal 413 and Harvest House. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Harvest House for Christ the King building fund.

Funeral note-- services for
Elmer L. Kintz, 81, of 51010 lilac Road, who died Monday in St.
Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 11 AM Thursday at Christ the
King Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial
Park, Granger. Friends May call from 7 to 9 PM today in the
Hickey Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30
PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvest House or
to Christ the King building fund.
