Arthur J. Kinnune, 78, of Elk Grove
Village, Ill., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died suddenly of a
heart attack in his home on Saturday morning, Jan. 2. Mr. Kinnune
was born on Aug. 26, 1920 in Warren, Ohio. He enlisted in the
United States Navy during World War II and served four years in
the Pacific as a naval aviator.
He graduated from Ohio State University in
1947 and began his career working with Studebaker Corporation for
17 years. It was there he met Emily Varga, whom he married
on June 25, 1949 in St. Paul's Methodist Church. After Studebaker
closed its doors in the mid 60's, he relocated the family to the
Chicagoland area, where he worked for the Irving Cloud Publishing
Company until he retired in 1991. He enjoyed life and loved to
travel after his retirement. He was a kind, gentle, loving man
who could never say a bad word about anyone. He will be missed by
many. "Rather than mourn the absence of the flame, let us
celebrate how brightly it burned." He is survived by his
wife of 49 years, Emily (Varga) Kinnune; two daughters, Sandy Stevens
of Laguna Niguel, Calif. and Nancy Vitzthum of St.
Charles, Ill.; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Tracy Stevens; a
sister, Lillian Luoma of Boston, Mass.; and by many nieces
and nephews.
