SOUTH BEND - William F. King, 88, of South Bend, passed
away Friday morning in Hospice House. He was born November 26,
1919, in South Bend, to John and Elizabeth (Lublow) King.
Also preceding him were his parents, sisters, Florence Macht
and Elma Freeman, and brothers, Wallace and Willard King.
On June 12, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, he
married the former Doris Porter, surviving and sharing 63
years together. William is also survived by his sister, Betty Totera
of Memphis, TN; sisters-in-law, Paula Porter and Maria Porter of
South Bend; nieces, Sandra and John Tiffany of South Bend,
Barbara and Tim Kujawski of Edwardsburg, Nikki Porter of
Elkhart, Shari and Neal Wagner of Beavercreek, Ohio;
nephews, Robert J. Seals of Memphis, TN, Todd and Anita
Porter of Michigan City, IN, Greg and Kim Porter of South Bend;
several very special great-nieces and nephews; and special
friends, Jeanne Brooks, Mike and Bridget Beutter of
South Bend. William was a graduate of South Bend Central High
School and served during WW II in the Air Force. He retired from
the Mastic Corporation where he worked for 46 years. The family
wants to thank the wonderful people at Hospice House who cared
for William for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, April 28th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North,
17033 Cleveland Road. Entombment will be at Alcove of Peace in
Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with family
today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Contributions may be made in
William's memory to Hospice and Palliative Care or the donor's
choice.
