South Bend - Sister M. Alphonsus King CSC, 86, of Rosary Hall Convent, died at 7:03 a.m. Saturday at her residence after an illness. She was born April 23, 1910 at Catherine Mary King in Anderson, Ind. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross on Feb. 11, 1930, and was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1930. She professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1932. She was an elementary school teacher in Anderson, Logansport, LaPorte, Danville, Ill., and Flint, Mich. In 1983, she served as parish visitor at Saint Paul’s Parish, Danville.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Church of Loretto, St. Mary’s, Notre Dame. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s, Notre Dame. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday in the church, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m.  Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Bertrand Hall, St. Mary’s, Notre Dame.
