Ernest L. Kingsafer

Ernest L. Kingsafer, 81, formerly of 19666 Palisade, died at 4 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

 

He was employed in the security division of the Studebaker Corp. He also had been a justice of the peace and constable in Clay Twp., a bus driver for Mishawaka Athletic Department and a bus driver for Clay Twp. schools.

 

He was born Nov. 9, 1902, in Fort Wayne, and had lived in the area most of his life. On Feb. 4, 1926, in South Bend, he married Carrie Jackson, who died in 1976. He is survived by a son, Robert L. of South Bend; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; a sister, Mrs. Louis (Jane) Grounds of South Bend; and a brother, Karl in California.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Welsheimer North Chapel.

 

Memorial contribution may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the choir of Community Congregation Church. He was a charter member of Community Congregation Church, Lodge 36 of the Fraternal Order of Police and a former member of the Clay Twp. Lion's Club.
