South Bend Tribune 2/14/2003
Mrs. Frances Kimble, 67, of Kenwood
Street, was called home by God. Heaven must have been missing an
angel. On Friday, Feb. 7, at 11:30 a.m., following a lengthy
illness, she answered heaven's call. Frances was born Sept. 22,
1935, in Marianna, Arkansas, to the union of Wiley and Mary (Singleton)
Turner, who both preceded her in death. Frances was the
youngest of eight children.
On March 11, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana,
she was united in holy matrimony to Charles E. Kimble, who
survives. Frances attended Central High School in South Bend. She
worked as a caseworker at Model City (Hansel Center) where she
was an active member in her community. She retired after 20 years
from L.S. Ayres as a security guard, and dedicated the remainder
of her life to her loving husband and family. Becoming a disciple
for Christ in her youth, she was a member of Macedonia Missionary
Baptist Church for over 35 years.
In addition to her husband, Charles,
Frances's memory will be cherished by three daughters, Margaret
(John) Arnold, Sheena (Albert) Garvin of South Bend
and Cassandra (Derrick) Tyler of Dallas, Texas; four sons,
Carey (Darlean) Kimble, Keith (Dorothy) Kimble, Carl (Anna)
Kimble of South Bend and Edward Charles (Shirley) Kimble of
Norcross, Georgia; two sisters, Ella Mae Hall of South
Bend and Anna Lee Montique of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 25
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law,
Annie M. Turner and Rose Turner, both of South Bend; a
brother-in-law, Jessie Walker of South Bend; along with a
host of special nieces, nephews and other relatives. Frances was
preceded in death by three sisters, Christine Walker of South
Bend, Martha Ann Smith of Marianna, Arkansas, and Mevalene
Fisher of Flint, Michigan; and by two brothers, Wiley and
Luscious Turner of South Bend. Frances loved life and showed it
by how she cared for people. She always brought out the best in
everyone. She studied God's word and was a model Christian.
Funeral services will be held at noon today,
Feb. 14, in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will
occur one hour prior to services in the church. ALFORD'S MORTUARY
has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
