MISHAWAKA - Alice F. DeVries Kimball, 100, formerly of
Mishawaka, passed away during the morning hours of December 2nd
in Regency Place of South Bend. Alice was born on January 8,
1907, in Lincoln Township, Berrien County, Michigan, to Charles
and Ida (Gast) Burandt. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church in St. Joseph, MI.
On November 29, 1928, in her parents' home,
she married Andrew DeVries, who preceded her in death in
1983. Alice remarried on March 3, 1984, to Lester Kimball in St.
Joseph, Michigan, who preceded her in death in 1995. Alice is
survived by a daughter, Elaine, and her husband, Wyatt Mick
of Mishawaka; a son, Charles, and his wife, Carol DeVries of
Waconia, MN. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Kris, and
her husband, Robert Sullivan of Waconia, MN, James, and
his wife, Debra DeVries of Britt, MN, Beth and her husband, Steen
Erickson of Minnetonka, MN, Laura and her husband, Michael
Worns of Mishawaka, Andrew Mick of Mishawaka; and a
granddaughter-in-law, Leslie Mick, also of Mishawaka. Alice was
the great-grandmother of 14, Luke, Austin, Jackson and Bailey
Sullivan, Sam, Julia and Klara DeVries, Anna and Jacob Erickson,
Thomas, Matthew and Mariah Worns, and Makenzie and Morgan Mick.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, R. Wyatt Mick III.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 5th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St.
Funeral services are to be held in the funeral chapel at 10 AM on
Dec. 6th, with Rev. Marlo Fritzke officiating. Burial is to
follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan, with a
graveside service being conducted at noon. Memorial contributions
may be made to either Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the
First Baptist Church of St. Joseph, Michigan.
