Sister Mary Bartola CSC, 88, diied in St. Mary’s Convent Friday evening. Born Feb. 23, 1889, in Posen, Germany. as Frances Kierojczyk, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Sept. 25, 1912 comimg from Germany, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1915. She served in various ancillary services in the congregation including St. Mary’s Convent and Holy Cross Convent at Notre Dame. She also served in Fort Wayne and in Illinois. She had lived in St. Mary’s Convent since 1920, being on actice duty until 1969.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call Sunday and until services, in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
