Sister M. Augustina Kiehl CSC, 91, of Saint Mary’s Convent died there at noon Manday after an illness. She was born May 8, 1895 in Athens, Wis., as Celia Kiehl. She is survived by a sister, Laura Steele of Fresno, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. She entered The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 4, 1913 coming from Fresno, and was received as a novice Dec. 10, 1913, making her professional vows Dec. 10, 1915. She taught in elementary and secondary school conducted by the Sisters of Holy Cross, and was assigned to schools in California for 50 years; taught in Utah for 12 years, and retired to St. Catherine’s Convent, Ventura, Calif. in 1978.

 

Services will be at7 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
