Mrs. Saloma Kiefer, aged 74, died in her home at 138 W. Broadway Thursday morning at 6 o'clock after an illness of six months.  Mrs. Kiefer was born in Madison township, this county, March 22, 1868 and as Miss Saloma Kline, married William Kiefer in Madison township April 19, 1897.  Her husband died March 19, 1917.  Mrs. Kiefer is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter N. Fox, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Lemuel Fouts, of Chicago; nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Heidrich, of South Bend.  Funeral services were conducted in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran church at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, with the pastor, the Rev. Theodore E. Schwan, officiating, and burial was in the cemetery at Woodland, this county.  Mrs. Kiefer was a member of St. Peter church for many years.
