Submitter note:  Three women in Bremen all died on the same day and  all
three obit were
put together.  Mrs. Kiefer's was the third one.

Third in the trio is to be recorded the death of  Mrs. Adam Kiefer, who
died very suddenly on Saturday afternoon.  While she  was at work in her garden
she became hungry and went to the house to get a  lunch.  But little did she
think that she would never see her garden again,  or even that the lunch would
be denied her.  Hardly had she crossed the  threshold when she fell to the
floor and her husband, who had been her companion  for he past 53 years, rushed
to her side only to find her dead.  Mr. and  Mrs. Kiefer moved to this place
from Woodland, St. Joseph county, about four  years ago and had built them a
beautiful little home in the west part of Bremen,  where they expected to pass
the remainder of their days.  She was 77 years  of age and is survived by her
husband, Adam Kiefer.  The children who  survive are William, Adam, Jr., and
Charles, all well-to-do farmers of St.  Joseph county; Mrs. David Jordan of St.
Joseph county; Mrs. J. D. Roeder, living  just north of Bremen, Mrs. G. Graaf,
of Nebraska, and the Misses Katie and Emma  Kiefer.  The funeral services
were held in the Lutheran church on Wednesday  forenoon at 9 o'clock, after which
the remains were taken to Woodland for  interment.  Rev. August Wilder
officiated at each of the three  funerals.
