Adam Kiefer

    Adam Kiefer, aged 80 years, one of Madison  township's oldest and best
known pioneer farmers, died on Sunday last at the  home of his son Adam Kiefer,
jr., at Wyatt.  He leaves three sons and four  daughters.  The funeral was
held on Tuesday from the Lutheran church, Rev.  Schlechte officiating.  There was
a large attendance of friends to pay  their last respects to the memory of
the deceased.

Adam Keifer Dead.

    Mr. Adam Keifer, of Madison township died Sunday  morning at 2 o'clock,
of general debility, aged about 80 years.  He was  well known in Madison and
Penn townships, having resided in the former place  about 50 years.  The
deceased was a consistent member of the Luthern church  at Woodland.
    The following children survive him; Adam, Carl and  William Keifer and
Mrs. David Jerdan, of Madison; Mrs. John Roeder and Mrs.  Philip Stoeckinger, of
Bremen, Ind., and Mrs. Godfried Groff, of Nebraska.   Mrs. Keifer died about
five years ago.  The funeral was held at 10 o'clock  Tuesday from the
residence and church at Woodland, Rev. A. F. W. Schlechte  officiating.  The burial
was at Woodland.
