Ernest S. Kertai, 72, of 1244 N.
Eclipse, died at 12:15 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after a
lengthy illness. He was a former Studebaker Corp. employee.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in South Bend, and lived in the South
Bend area all his life. On July 3, 1943, in North Carolina,
he married Mary Frances Stricker. She died on April
30, 1970. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Anna
Zsedely, Mrs. Irma Baichley and Mrs. Mary Pajor,
and Mrs. Velma Conjalka of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and two
brothers, Rudolph and Emery, both of South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday
in the Kaniewski and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be
Saturday afternoon in the Charlestown
(Ind.) Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
He was a veteran of World War II.

KERTAI - Graveside services for Ernest
S. Kertai, 72, of 1244 N. Eclipse, who died Thursday in Memorial
Hospital, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Charlestown Cemetery
in Charlestown, Ind. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today in
the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where a prayer service will
be conducted at 7 p.m. today. Rev. Paul F.
Doyle, C.S.C., pastor of St Joseph
Catholic Church, will officiate. Memorial contributions may
be made to the American Lung Association.
