MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Julia L. Kerns, 61, of 420 N. Cedar Street, died Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after an illness of one year. She was born July 15, 1910 in Mishawaka and was a lifetime resident of this city. She retired in 1966 after 37 years with Uniroyal.

 

As Julia Lifke, she was married to James Kernes on Dec. 9, 1935 in Plymouth. Survivors include her husband, two brothers Frank and Michael, both of Mishawaka; and two sisters, Mrs. Michael Keleman, and Mrs. Charles Palmer, also of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Paul Grant of Grace fellowship, Logansport, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
