Marynell (Langdon) Kern, 86, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend, Ind. passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005, at 1:25 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.
Marynell was born on April 15, 1919, in Plymouth, Ind. to James and Edna Langdon, who preceded her in death. Also a brother, William Langdon, preceded her in death.
On March 30, 1943, she married Charles Lee Kern in Marfa, Texas, and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Carl) Frank of San Diego, Calif., and Susan (Thomas) Creevey of South Bend; five grandchildren, Meghan and Eric Frank of San Diego, Breeyan Creevey of Chicago, Ill., Kern Creevey and Connor Creevey, both of South Bend; one great-grandson, Anthony Frank of San Diego; one sister, Sarah (Robert) Jones of Plymouth; three brothers, Robert (Mary Alice) Langdon of Terre Haute, Ind., and Patrick (Betty) Langdon and Thomas (Kay) Langdon, both of Plymouth; and a sister-in-law, Jean Langdon of Plymouth. Dodo's love and dedication to her family made her a role model and inspiration to all who loved and knew her.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Matthews Cathedral, 1701 Miami, South Bend, Ind. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the church. Arrangements are being handled by the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Cathedral.
