Sister M. Carla CSC, 85, died early today in the convent at St. Mary’s College. She was born Victoria Kerbel in 1879, in Munich, Germany, and came to the United States in 1904 to enter the Sisters of the Holy Cross. She received her habit the same year, and made her final vows in 1907. She spent her entire community life at the University of Notre Dame. She was stationed at the Holy Cross Convent until her retirement to the Mother House in 1958.

A requiem high mass will be offered in the Church of Loretto at St. Mary’ College at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
