Claribel Kepler

Claribel Kepler, 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2000, in her residence. Mrs. Kepler was born on March 6, 1913, in Piqua, OH, to Clarence Fenters and Ethel Grabowski, and had lived here since 1920, coming from Frankfort, MI.

On December 9, 1931, as Claribel Fenters, she married Lloyd Kepler, who preceded her in death on May 4, 1999. She is survived by a granddaughter, Cynthia Kepler of Tell City, IN; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jordan Zuckschwerdt; a sister, Jeanette (Richard) Gray of South Bend, IN; a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Kepler of Tell City, IN; and by loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Kepler in 1992; a grandson, Douglas Kepler in 1994; and by two brothers, John and Harold Fenters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2000, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, December 14, 2000, in the funeral home. Mrs. Kepler was a member of the Granger Presbyterian Church, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, 711 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617.
