Services for Sister  Mary Annette CSC, 79, who died Sunday after a long illness, were held Tuesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto. Burial was in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.

 

A resident of Saint Mary’s Convent since 1948, she was born Mary Anne Kennedy in Penacook NH, in 1886. She received her education New Hampshire and entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1904, receiving the habit of the congregation the same year. She made her profession of vows in 1906 and her final profession in 1910. During her community life she taught at the former St. Edward’s Hall at the University of Notre Dame and at St. Joseph Academy in South Bend. She spent many years at St. Mary’s School in Anderson, Ind., prior to her appointment as director of St. Catherine’s Academy in Ventura, Calif. Upon completion of this assignment she returned to St. Mary’s Academy until her assignment in 1944 to the midwest provincial house at St. Mary’s College. She retired in 1948.
