Joseph Kendziorski: (South Bend

Aug. 11, 1924 Feb. 10, 2005 Joseph Kendziorski Jr., 80, of Osceola, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2005, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Joseph was born on August 11, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Joseph Sr. and Magdaline (Banaszak) Kendziorski, and was a lifelong area resident. In April 1951 he married Theresa Puzynski-Chrapliwy, who preceded him in death in June 2000. Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Botka, Irene Kuzmicz and Gertrude Kendziorski. Joe is survived by his daughters, Becky (Pete) Mayfield of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Joann (Michael) Miller of Union, Michigan, Shirley Perry of Osceola, Vicki Price of Elkhart, Indiana, Pat Sharp of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Sandra (Pat) Morrissey of Buena Park, California; his son, Larry (Lynne) Chrapliwy of Newport, Kentucky; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Ault of South Bend; and by two brothers, Edward (Evelyn) Kendziorski and John Kendziorski, both of South Bend. Mr. Kendziorski worked as a custodian for the South Bend Community School Corporation for 10 years before retiring in 1989. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post #308. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Friday, February 11, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM Saturday, February 12, 2005, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley's Children's Foundation, 30 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
