SOUTH BEND - Eugene A. Keen, 83, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009, in his home. Eugene was born May 24, 1926, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Alexander and Ceil (Tomaszewski) Keen. He retired as a C.P.A. from Culver Military Academy in June 1990 after eight years of service, and had previously been employed with Clark Equipment for 25 years and Price Waterhouse in Chicago for nine years. On June 14, 1947, Eugene married Lora Bishop, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2008. Surviving are his daughter, Debra (Edward) Mellinger of Evanston, Illinois; and his brother, Leonard Keen of South Bend, Indiana. Eugene was a WW II Army Air-Force veteran, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, American Association of C.P.A.s, A.A.R.P. where he volunteered helping others prepare their taxes for 19 years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus #5570, and was an avid Notre Dame and Cub's fan. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6, from 4-8 p.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 7, in Christ the King Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 S.R. 933, South Bend, IN 46637; or to Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana, P.O.
