Robert D. Keefer
MISHAWAKA - Robert D. Keefer, 74,
formerly of South Bend, passed away Saturday morning, February 3,
2007, in Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. Bob was
born December 29, 1932, in Mishawaka, a son of the late Glen Dale
and Stella (Weaver) Keefer. He had lived the majority of his life
in South Bend and recently lived in Mishawaka. Bob served his
country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed his
occupation as a landscaper and tree trimmer. Bob liked fishing
and cooking. He made particularly good meat loaf and enjoyed
making cookies. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob's surviving family includes his fiancé,
Alice C. Benson; a son, Robert Keefer; a daughter, Eldonna
Keefer-Miller; three grandchildren, Stephanie Miller,
Roushea and Rachelle Keefer; three sisters, Marilyn Wiley,
Patricia Walker and Shirley Miller; four stepchildren and
numerous step-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his
wife, Edith Keefer, in 2004, and by four brothers.
Cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
Bob's family is being cared for by Thallemer, Goethals &
Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka.
