El J. Kazmierzak, 88, of Louisville KY, formerly of South Bend, died at 8:33pm, Wednesday, November 6, in his residence.

He was born on September 21, 1908, in South Bend, and had lived here most of his life, until moving to Louisville two years ago.

On September 16, 1930, in St Stanislaus Church, South Bend, he married Veronica Rzeszewski, who survives, along with a daughter, Marlene Ruth of Louisville KY; seven grandchildren, Richard, David and Susan Ruth, Kathy Franklin, Donna Walls, and Christine and Michelle Kazmierzak; and three great grandchildren, Jordan and Joseph Ruth, and Nathan Franklin.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald, on August 31, 1987.

In 1973, Mr. Kazmierzak retired from Ward’s Baking Company, where he was employed as a baker.  He was a member of Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Louisville, and Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Bend

Friends may call from 2 to 8pm today, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a parish rosary will be recited at 3:30pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Saturday, in Holy Cross Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
