SOUTH BEND - Bernard J. Kazmierczak, 86, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, in Memorial Hospital. Bernard was born on August 27, 1923, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Rose (Grezkowiak) Kazmierczak. In 1945, Bernard married Joan (Siemiemiac) and she passed away in 1955. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Kazmierczak. Bernard is survived by his daughter, Linda Gutierrez of South Bend; son, Raymond Kazmierczak of Battleground, IN; grandchildren, Benjamin, Ryan, Adam, Jillian and Jenna Kazmierczak, Joanna and Abigail Gutierrez; and brothers, Richard (Rene) Kazmierczak and Gerald Kazmierczak. Bernard honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Family and friends may gather at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2010, in the Formal Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, where a memorial service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel. ST.
