Sister M. Gabriel Dolores, CSC, 105, died at 9:30 a.m. today in the convent. Sister dolores was born Teresa Kavanaugh on June 6, 1883 in Halletsville, Texas. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on June 30, 1926 coming from Austin, Texas. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1927, and professed her vows on Jan. 6, 1929. She is survived by two sisters, Sister M. Rosalima, CSC, and Margaret Kavauangh, both of Austin, Texas. She was an elementary school teacher and assigned to schools conducted by Sisters of the Holy Cross.. She taught at St. Joseph Academy and Holy Cross School, both in South Bend, and schools in Anderson, Ind., Michigan City and Elkhart. She also taught in Morris and Peoria, Ill.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Lorotto, St. Mary’s, Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Convent, where a wake will begin at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry for the Poor Fund.
