Isadore Katz

Isadore Katz, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005. He was born on February 22, 1919 in South Bend to Harry and Ida Katz.

On April 11, 1943, he married the former Shirley Schatz. Together they enjoyed over 61 years of marriage. Isadore had been the owner of Schatz & Katz Grocery for many years. He was a lifetime member of Sinai Synagogue.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Katz of Mishawaka; his sons, Alan (Alice) Katz of Dallas, Texas and Irvin (Beth Ann) Katz of Falls Church, Virginia; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; his sisters, Naomi Fridovich of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Bernice Tolchinsky of Michigan City, Indiana and Beverly Shapiro of Chicago, Illinois; and his brother, Julius Katz of Michigan City, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Isadore Katz to Sinai Synagogue.
