David Barry Katz

David Barry Katz, 59, residing on Jefferson Estates Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, in his residence. Mr. Katz served as a security officer for Brinks, Inc., South Bend, Ind. He was born on Jan. 29, 1942, in Mesa, Ariz., to the late Herman and Jeanne Katz, and lived in the  South Bend community most of his life.

Mr. Katz is survived by a son and his wife, Jason and Shannon Katz of South Bend; a daughter and her husband, Heather and Leonard Lawles of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jeremie Nathan Lawles and Kayla K. Michael; and by a brother and his wife, Lee and Roberta Katz of Glendale, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, in the chapel at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. Rabbi Michael Friedland will officiate. Friends may call just prior to services at the cemetery chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice. The Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.
