Pat L. Katona, 61, of East Sandy Hill
Lane, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, in the Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center. Ms. Katona was born on Aug. 20, 1940, in
Hamburg, Mich., to Carl and Rosalie (Emery) Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Sullivan. Ms.
Katona lived in the South Bend, Ind., area from 1978 to 1986 and
then from August 2000 to the present time, coming from Panama
City, Fla. In 1998 she received her BSW from Florida State
University, graduating magna cum laude, and received her MSW at
Florida State University in May 2000. She then moved back to
South Bend to enjoy spending time with her grandchildren and
building her new home. Ms. Katona worked as a substitute teacher
for the Penn Harris Madison School Corporation for the past year.
She is survived by two daughters, Joy (Dave)
Lankford of South Bend and Teresa (Jeff) Wickstrom
of Yucaipa, Calif.; two grandchildren, Christian and Holly; her
mother, Rosalie Sullivan of Brighton, Mich.; two sisters, Diana
(Richard) Mundinger of Hudson, Mass., and Christine
(Michael) McKusick of Hartland, Mich.; and by a brother,
Jerry Sullivan of Milwaukee, Wis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today,
Dec. 28, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive,
South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday,
Dec. 29, in Clay United Methodist Church.
