SOUTH BEND - Sophie A. Kasznia, 71, of North Edison Avenue, died after an illness at 5:15 a.m. today in her home. Mrs. Kasznia was employed by Bike Web Athletics. She was born March 11, 1925, in South Bend.

On Jan. 11, 1947, in South Bend, as Sophie Manijak, she married Benedict Kasznia. He survives with a daughter, Linda Kasznia of South Bend; two sons, Richard of South Bend and Gary of Lydick; six grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Niezgodski and Mary Nowicki, both of South Bend; and a brother, Frank Manijak of South Bend.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
